The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday suspended the government order (GO) stopping all its advertisements to Sakshi newspaper and television channel owned by Kadapa member of Parliament YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

The high court asked the state government to file a counter in this regard and posted the next hearing in the case to June 16.

The apex court in the state also posted to June 22 the next hearing on the freezing of accounts of Jagati Publications, which publishes Sakshi daily, Indira Television, which runs the news channel, and Janani Infrastructure, which owns the premises used by the media firms.

Last week, the state government had issued an order asking all the departments, agencies, public sector undertakings, corporations and organisations to stop releasing advertisements and notifications to Sakshi.

The order was issued two days after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) froze the bank accounts of the media firms.

The management of the media firms approached the high court against both stalling of advertisements and seizure of accounts.
