Himachal changes VAT act

The Himachal Pradesh government today amended the state value added tax act-2005 and rules to provide e-filing of returns and e-payment of tax by dealers.It also included hydraulic, mobile pick and carry cranes under capital goods category.

The cabinet also decided to handover the operation of the recently introduced fleet of 75 luxury buses in Shimla town under Jawahar Lal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission(JNNURM) to the state transport department.

Approval was given to frame policies under JNNURM for advertising and parking by next month to deliver commuters efficient transport facilities in this popular resort town. The cabinet also gave its nod to introduce biometric smart card scheme in all twelve districts of the state for efficient disbursement of social security pension to all beneficiaries.
