To attract tourists to the hill state, the Himachal Pradesh government has invited expressions of interest from interested companies and parties for operating helicopter-taxi services in the state.
“This is being done for the optimum use of 57 helipads and 12 other upcoming helipads across the hill state,” a state government spokeman said. “The idea is to increase the tourist volume in the scenic tribal belt and the lesser-known areas of the state. This service will also be available to the general public. The heli-taxi will also provide an airlink between Delhi-Chandigarh-Shimla and other popular tourist destinations as well.
