Hmt Tractors & #8217; Low Output Hits Over 100 Small Units

Decline in production and poor financial management at the Pinjore-based HMT Tractors Ltd have hit several small-scale units, who are dependent on the tractor giant. The company has not been made payments to its suppliers for over 12 months.

The company owes over Rs 30 crore to its 100 ancillaries in the region. Over 100 small-scale units in and around Chandigarh and thousands of workers are in a dolorous state.

While many of the units have closed, several others are on the verge of closure. Ancillaries of HMT Tractors are operating below the break-even level.
