Home ministry alerts states post Jaipur blast

A dazed Centre quickly rushed a team of forensic experts to Rajasthan to assist the state government in conducting the investigations into the blasts, which seem to have been done through bombs strapped on bicycles.

Sri Prakash Jaiswal, minister of state for home affairs, claimed that the Jaipur blasts appeared to be the handiwork of militants. He, however did not mention any organisation or suspected groups.

 

Intelligence agencies were quick to point out the hand of Islamic groups in the blasts as the modus operandi of Jaipur's blasts was similar to that of the suspected terrorist groups that had blasted bombs in a Varanasi court in November and killed 13 employees.

The Union Home ministry has also issued advisories to the state government to remain in a state of high alert against attacks by terrorists in populated areas an market places.

The states have also been asked to prevent any backlash of the Jaipur incident and maintain calm
