The Human Resource Management System (HRMS), a flagship project of the state general administration department would streamline administrative processes and also facilitate better decision making in matters related to recruitment, promotion, transfer and superannuation of the government employees.
This project has been rolled out in 14 departments in the first phase and will be extended to all the departments of the state government in the second phase.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik recently launched the project. He said, “In the first phase, user-ID and passwords have been provided to the employees of 14 departments whose service books have been authenticated and they can access HRMS online. It will be rolled out to all the departments in the second phase. I compliment the officers of the general administration department for their consistent endeavour in successful implementation of HRMS.”
HRMS intends a transaction based independent system to be operated at the level of different hierarchies of authorities in the government. Workshops will be organized for the sensitization of the employees across the state.
“The importance of service book in employee management needs no elaboration. It is not only a complete repository of all important transactions with the government but also works as a mirror in settlement of routine employee related issues like pension and gratuity”, added Patnaik.
The HRMS database will provide a comprehensive knowledge base regarding the complete career cycle of each employee.
