A US-based human rights organisation, Human Rights Watch, has slammed the Centre and the Gujarat government for not being able to hold accountable the perpetrators of the Gujarat riots.
Coming on the heels of the 27 June acquittal by a Gujarat court of 21 people accused of burning 12 Muslims alive in a bakery in Vadodara during the riots in March and April 2002, the report says the state government worked actively to sabotage investigations.
