Hurdles on metro path

Your daily ride to work is not going to be that easy. An analysis of the progress of top metro projects across India suggests that apart from the Delhi and Jaipur Metro and Chennai Monorail, the remaining projects are still in the planning stages. Many of the projects like Hyderabad Metro - which has been awarded to L&T - are facing delay in land acquisition, while Mumbai Metro Phase 2 is set to get scrapped following a spate between Reliance Infrastructure and State government over allocation of land for a rail depot.
