At a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is busy promoting digital economy and telling people that their mobile phone is their bank, former prime minister HD Deve Gowda said that even he does not know how to use a mobile phone.

While addressing Janata Dal Secular national executive meeting, party president Gowda said, "I am a former Prime Minister. Even I don't know how to use a mobile phone. Modi wants villagers to use phone banking."

Modi surprised the nation on November 8 declaring that 500 and 1000 rupee notes are "worthless papers".

Both Gowda and his son H D Kumarswamy called Modi a 'dictator'.
