I-T Dept seizes Rs 44 cr from 3 commodity traders

In its largest-ever cash seizure, the Income Tax Department today said it had recovered Rs 44.20 crore of unaccounted money from three commodity traders in Delhi, some of whom were operating for corporate entities.

During the operation, conducted on January 18 and 19, the accused admitted to having an undisclosed income of Rs 155 crore. Their areas of operation were Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh.
