The United Front convenor, N Chandrababu Naidu, yesterday refused to be drawn into a discussion on the reshuffle of the Union council of ministers, maintaining that portfolios dont matter much.

He added that he was not consulted by the Prime Minister before expansion of the Union cabinet.

Talking to reporters here, Naidu said what mattered was the interest of the State.

On issues affecting the interests of the state, we shall fight. Portfolios dont matter, he commented when specifically asked about his party colleague, Renuka Choudhury, sulking over the Telugu Desam not being given weighty subjects.

Chowdhury was reportedly sulking over raw deal meted out to TDP members in the reshuffle in which S Venugopalachari was shifted from power portifolio to the less glamorous agriculture, Umareddy Venkateswarlu was stripped of parliamentary affairs and Renuka Chowdhury denied independent charge of health and family welfare.

Naidu arrived here this morning from Rajahmundry and immediately left for Adilabad where he is due to address another farmers convention.
