Ia Fares Up 15 Per Cent

National carriers Air-India and Indian Airlines have said they will raise fares across all categories.

Indian Airlines today announced a 15 per cent hike in fares due to the rise in the price of aviation turbine fuel.

Air-India executives said fares would go up 5 per cent on west-bound flights as part of the flexi-fare policy.

Air-India is also considering passing on the 3 per cent war surcharge to passengers following the International Air Transport Association
