The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) today expressed concern about the decline in country's exports in the last year, which witnessed downfall of 33 per cent.

"During the month of March 2009 a decline of 33.3 per cent has been witnessed when compared to the last year. Immediate steps have to be taken to reverse the trend, which is being continued for the last six months in a row under the impact of slow down in global market," IACC National President S K Jain said in a release.

Jain has called for imaginative steps for reducing the hardships faced by the exporters. "In view of the steady decline in exports, it is necessary that the exporting community should be given adequate funds at a reasonable rate of interest for procuring exportable items," he said.
