The court of inquiry into the sexual harassment charges levelled by IAF officer Anjali Gupta against her three superior officers on Monday set the process of inquiry in motion here.

The court headed by air vice marshal V M Iyer, along with four officers, including two women, began "assessing" the relevant documents, an IAF spokesman said.

The IAF had announced the court of inquiry on April 27 even as Gupta is separately facing court martial proceedings initiated against her on charges of indiscipline, insubordination and financial irregularities.

Gupta, working at the aircraft systems and testing establishment here, had made the sexual harassment charges in her April 7 letter to the chief of air staff and the ministry of defence, besides complaining to the police here in February.
