The district administration has served a notice on C M Khader, younger brother of Union minister for civil aviation C M Ibrahim, asking why he should not be expelled from the district, as per Section 55 of the Police Act.

According to superintendent of police, Shimoga, he has requested the deputy commissioner to expell four notorious criminals including Khader from the district fearing further law and order problem and disturbance of peace in Bhadravathi town.

He said people in the area had developed a fear psychosis to give any complaint against these alleged criminals and it had become inevitable to take such an action under these circumstances.

Sometime back, Khader had allegedly attempted to rape a girl in her house late in the night and murder her father, a local businessman, at Bhadravathi.

The girl was rescued by the neighbours when members of the house raised an alarm. In the melee, Khader escaped but the police immediately took him into custody under different sections of Indian Pena Code.

The heinous act had created tension in Bhadravathi, leading to widespread agitation.
