Taking its expertise in entrepreneurship development to Sri Lanka, the Ahmedabad-based International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (ICECD) has trained over 30 non-government organisations (NGOs) of the neighbouring country.
ICECD carried out specialised interventions for the officers and experts of the women ministries to orient them towards women entrepreneurship.
Also, In a bid to learn orientation and exposure of various small and medium enterprises (SMEs) associated with the International Centre for Entrepreneurship & Career Development (ICECD), a senior level delegation of business development service (BDS) providers of Sri Lanka are on visit to Ahmedabad. The Sri Lankan teams will explore possibilities of collaboration in business, training and technology.
"The team will be exposed and trained in successful approach and experiences of validated ICECD model to create sustainable and growth oriented SMEs. Interactions and interface with successful ICECD entrepreneurs coupled with experience sharing with ICECD experts of international repute, will provide insight into the identification and assessment of entrepreneurs' training approach and methods and how to design and deliver cost effective BDS services to promote SMEs," said Hina Shah, director, ICECD.
The delegation are on a visit to ICECD to learn orientation and exposure of various SMEs in technology like food, textile and garment, plastics, construction related and recycling waste. As part of ICECD's previous associations with Sri Lanka. Shah has also initiated the women's chamber of commerce in Sri Lanka.
