Idea Labs Convergence Plan Begins

Idea Labs, an incubation initiative launched by the city-based Renaissance Infotech, has conducted an industry-academia convergence programme at the Hitec city here.

Speaking on the occasion, Pankaj Diwan, chief executive of Renaissance, said students in their final semester of professional courses such as engineering and MCA will be enrolled for the incubation programme.

The company has tied up with few industry leaders in mobile computing and telecommunication areas which will provide projects to the students.

About 300 students, IT industry mentors and academicians from various engineering colleges participated in the session.

The incubation programme has three core modules - foundation, internship and career guidance modules.

 

During the foundation stage, students will be taught basic concepts on leading edge technologies, internship consists of working on projects assigned by companies, while the career guidance module helps students find a job placement.

The programme consists of 75 sessions of one-and-a-half hour duration and charges Rs 4,500. The company offers internship in the areas of embedded systems, hardware design, smart cards, convergence and mobile solutions.

Renaissance is also forming strategic alliances to build developer communities in specialised domains to cater to the technical human resource needs for major IT players in the country.
