The consortium of IL&FS group company ITNL ENSO Rail Systems Ltd (IERS) and real estate major DLF has once again emerged as the sole bidder for the 3.2-km Rs 1,000-crore Gurgaon Metro rail project, being implemented through a public-private partnership by the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda).

Bids for the project, which closed yesterday, were called for the second time in January after the same consortium emerged as the sole bidder in the previous round in December.

Confirming the development, IERS CEO Sanjiv Rai said, “We have emerged as the sole bidder for the project. We are fully compliant with the conditions set forth by Huda. We hope that the project will be awarded to us soon.”

According to sources close to the development, the consortium had suggested some changes in the payment structure to Huda which were incorporated in the latest bidding document.

The standard gauge project envisages development of a Metro link for providing last-mile connectivity from the Delhi Metro’s Sikanderpur station on MG Road to NH-8 over a 60-metre-wide road (Vishwakarma Marg), where DLF Cybercity is located.
