IGNOU-Accenture launch BPO accounting course

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Ahmedabad has tied up with Accenture to launch a new course for the business process outsourcing (BPO).

The programme, Diploma in BPO-Finance and Accounting, is expected to help grow talent for country's outsourcing industry by providing comprehensive training in BPO processes.

"The programme, targeted at both undergraduates and graduates, aims to impart industry-specific skills to aspirants wanting to pursue a career in the finance and accounting outsourcing industry," said C Gajendra Naidu, regional director for IGNOU Ahmedabad in a press release.

The applications for the diploma programme have been opened since February 15, 2009. According to Naidu, the six month programme focuses on building finance and accounting outsourcing skills of students with 10+2 or Bachelors Degree as the minimum eligibility criteria.

 

Accenture has worked closely with IGNOU to develop the course and its deployment strategy. The programme will incorporate theory as well practical courses, designed by academicians, Accenture, BPO training organisations and e-learning organisations. Students who successfully complete the programme will be eligible to apply for employment with Accenture and other BPO companies.
