IIAS fellowships made more lucrative

A national fellow at the reputed Indian Institute of Advanced Study(IIAS) in Shimla will now get Rs 60,000 per month instead of Rs 25,000.
This decision has been taken by the ministry of human resource development, which runs the institute housed in the historical Viceregal Lodge at summer hill in Shimla.
Those scholars who are retired government servants will now no longer have their pension amount deducted. The revised fellowship amount has come into effect from June this year, a spokesman of the IIAS said.
The IIAS has fellows from all walks of life from across the country and overseas. They have to stay at the institute for two years to carry out their research.
