The panel discussion was presided by P K Khanna, assistant general manager (planning), Bank of Baroda.
Other panalists were: R D Pandya, retired chief secretary, IIB-Mumbai; Dilip Chellani, reader, department of banking and business finance, M S University, Vadodara; K Ramachandran Nair, assistant general manager, State Bank of India (SBI), Alkapuri branch; and M T P Kamath, chief manager, SBI, Dandia Bazar branch.
Employees from various banks in Vadodara and students of banking in the M S University participated in the panel discussion. The discussion began with a presentation by Rita Ria of Bank of Baroda, also the secretary of the Vadodara sub-centre of IIBF.
The presentation covered the mid-term review of macroeconomic conditions, monetary developments during 2003-04, stance of the policy during the second half of the fiscal 2003-04 and the salient features of various reforms and policy measures announced by the RBI governor Y V Reddy.
