IIP up 11% in May, mfg output zooms 11.5%

The index of industrial production (IIP) increased 10.8% in May boosted by strong manufacturing.

Manufacturing rose 11.5% in May when compared with 7.5% in May 2004 and 10% in April.

While production of consumer goods increased 18.9% in May, capital goods output moved up 19.2%.Mining rose 3.7%, and electricity output was up 10.6%.
