India-China ASEAN export gap widening: Ficci

The gap of the share of exports between India and China in the overall import of goods into ASEAN countries is widening, with India's share rising to 1.6% in 2006 from 1% in 1997 while China's share has jumped from 3.7% to 11.4% in the same period, a study conducted by industry chamber Ficci said.

This primarily means that exports from India are not going to Asean countries but to countries other than the Asean.

The Ficci study finds that for as many as 20 products out of India
