India FX, bonds, stock markets closed for holiday

India's currency, bonds and stock markets are closed on Wednesday for a local holiday.

Trading resumes on Thursday. The partially convertible rupee closed on Tuesday at 44.48/49 per dollar, off the day's low of 44.68 but marginally below Monday's close of 44.47/48.

The yield on the 10-year benchmark bond ended at 8.08 per cent, its highest since Oct. 8, 2008, and above Monday's close of 8.03 per cent.

The 30-share BSE index closed 0.17 per cent or 31.04 points lower at 17,821.96 points.
