India, Japan to complete CEPA talks by Dec: Nath

The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) negotiations between India and Japan will be completed by December this year, Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath said while speaking at the India-Japan Business Leaders Forum today.

Nath also called on Japanese business leaders to avail of the investment opportunities in India, and highlighted the enormous contribution Japan could make for infrastructure development. "Our need for infrastructure is massive, and we estimate that we will need $384 billion to bridge the infrastructure gap in the next five years," he said.

The minister also highlighted the lead given to the Indo-Japanese economic engagement through the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project and hoped that apart from benefiting the country
