India-Pak to settle 1948 Hyderabad fund case |

India has decided to go for an out-of-the-court settlement with Pakistan on the disputed 30 mn pound sterling, that has been lying in a British bank for over last 60 years. The dispute dates back to September 20, 1948, after the partition of India, when a minister of the Nizam of Hyderabad, had unauthorisedly transferred nearly 1 mn pounds from the state funds to the then National Westminister Bank, London, in the account of Pakistan |
