Playing down the latest Chinese incursions in Leh region of Jammu and Kashmir, External Affairs Minister S M Krishna today said these incidents were not a “cause of concern” and these will be “taken care of”.

“Certainly it is not a cause of concern. I would like to reassure everyone concerned that our boundaries are intact and we will certainly take care of such incidents,” Krishna told reporters, when asked if the incursions by Chinese were a cause of concern for India.

Describing as “most peaceful” the boundary with China, he said “with China, I think the boundary has been one of the most peaceful. So, there is no issue on that. There is no problem on that. These incursions will be certainly sorted out”.

Noting that the country has a very long border of over 3,000 km with China, Krishna said “there is a built-in mechanism which is in place and which takes care of such incursions”.

After helicopter incursions into Indian airspace, official sources said the Chinese Army has violated the international border in Ladakh region and painted boulders and rocks in the area red.

The minister said the special representatives of two countries on the boundary issue are also making efforts to address the issue of different conceptions between India and China relating to the International Border.
