India has exported 4,61,367 tonne of oilmeals in July this year. According to Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA), the overall export of oilmeals for the period April to July is reported at 18,65,719 tonne against 9,69,935 tonne in the corresponding period last year, up 92.36 per cent.
This rise in export was mainly because of rise in export of soybean meal (from 4,91,600 tonne to 13,89,996 tonne) and rapeseed meal (from 2,80,500 tonne to 3,52,156 tonne).
Vietnam has shown quantum jump in import of oilmeals from India and reported at 468,724 tonne compared to 3,73,285 tonne last year, consist of 3,97,188 tonne of soybean meal, 19,572 tonne of rapeseed meal and entire 51,964 tonne of ricebran extraction from India.
South Korea reported import of 296,737 tonne compared to 227,425 tonne of last year, consist of 170,606 tonne of rapeseed meal, 63,289 tonne of soybean meal and 62,842 tonnes of castorseed meal. Japan reported import of 220,127 tonne compared to 104,550 tonne consist of 217,027 tonne of soybean meal and 3,100 tonne of rapeseed meal during April to July 2008.
