India seeks higher H-1B quota

 The US decision to lower the number of H-1B visas from 195,000 to 65,000 a year, has prompted the Indian government to seek a higher quota of such visas for the country.

 While a delegation of the ministry of information technology, which is in the US at present, is expected to take up the issue with its American counterpart, the commerce ministry is pushing for higher quotas at the World Trade Organisation
