India to overtake Mexico in exim funding

Speaking to media here, Lambright said that the US Ex-Im Bank currently finances $3.5 billion worth of exports to India, while another $6 billion are in pipeline.

"Going by the current trends, we expect India to overtake Mexico in the coming years as a beneficiary of our financing. Currently, Mexico's exposure stands at $7 billion," he added.

 

The bank has signed agreements with eight Indian financial institutions worth $2.2 billion for financing infrastructure projects under an arrangement called India infrastructure facility.

These include India Infrastructure Finance Company Ltd, Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency, Industrial Development Bank of India, Infrastructure Development Finance Company, Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services, Power Finance Corporation, Punjab National Bank, and  State Bank of India.
