There was need for renewed emphasis on manufacturing technology to protect the Indian defense industry from multi lateral cartels that sought to deny sophisticated technology to developing nations, vice admiral Raman Puri, commander-in-chief, Indian Navy, Eastern Naval Command, said here recently.
