Indian Trade Fair 2004 to kick off on Oct 13

The Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC), in collaboration with Kontak Exhibitions and Fairs, will be organising the sixth Indian Trade Fair 2004 from October 13 to 17, 2004, in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
 
SLECC is expecting around 200 exhibitors from India and 30,000 visitors from Sri Lanka to participate in the five-day trade fair.
 
Addressing the media, Shanti Outschoorn, general manager of SLECC, said that around 50 business delegations from various sectors including agro, food, education, service, infrastructure, information technology, electronics, tourism and machinery are expected to participate.
 
The ministry of commerce and consumer affairs, Government of Sri Lanka, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Sri Lanka, the Indian high commission in Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau and the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka are the official supporters of Indian Trade Fair 2004.
 
After India's free trade agreement with Sri Lanka, the Indian exports to Sri Lanka have increased to the tune of over $1 billion in 2003 as compared to $831 million in 2002.
