Indo-Am Chamber facilitates tie-ups for SMEs

The Indo American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), Pune Chapter is planning to start a special cell that will facilitate mutually beneficial tie-ups of SMEs working in entertainment segment in Pune region and USA.

Commenting on this, Raghavendra Gaikaiwari, President of Indo American Chamber of Commerce, Pune Chapter said, "The entertainment sector has recently received the status of Industry and Pune being an important centre for regional films and theatre; it is a home for several small and mid size production houses, animation studios, editing and recording studios. We are looking at tapping this strength for forming mutually beneficial tie-ups with similar set ups in the US."

 

He added, "We have initiated a drive to encourage enrolment of such SMEs operational in sectors related to entertainment as a member of the Chamber and create a platform for them in an attempt to bring them in closer contact with the US businesses working in similar sectors."

IACC, Pune Chapter is also planning to touch upon ‘Biotechnology’, another upcoming field from the Pune region. It a planning a visit of the delegation to various universities and technology incubators in the USA to explore possibilities of mutually beneficial associations with these institutions. In this connection the Chamber has already initiated discussions with University of Virginia, UC Berkley and others.
