Indonesia will strengthen its trade relationship with the mineral-rich Chhattisgarh to explore new business opportunities.

"I am hopeful that the meeting will help in strengthening relationship between Chhattisgarh and Indonesia," Andi M Ghalib, Ambassador of Indonesia, said at an interactive session organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here.

He invited industries to visit Indonesia and find out business opportunities. He suggested inviting Indonesian companies to participate in the fairs in Chhattisgarh that were emerging as a fast developing state. The CII members discussed with the Ambassador about investment opportunities in Indonesia as many companies were interested in Coal and Rice Bran Industries.

India and Indonesia have had good relationship for the past 1,000 years while culture in Indonesia owes much to India, Ghalib said, adding that he was here to renew the relationship again. India is a cultural super power and one day, it will be the world leader, he added.

Industry Secretary P Ramesh Kumar, who was the special guest on the occasion, said Chhattisgarh would benefit with foreign investments. He requested the Ambassador to work further in this connection.

Kumar requested the CII team to explore more business ideas with Indonesian companies and urged the Indonesian Ambassador to bring business delegates to the state. He invited Indonesian companies to participate in Rajyotsava and Enterprise Chhattisgarh fair this year.

CII Chairman Narayan Agrawal said that Chhattisgarh industry had been growing at a fast pace and would be looking for new technology and new markets for its products.
