Indore youth nabbed for Rs30lakh credit card fraud

A youth arrested by the Indore police for unauthorised use of credit card numbers for booking air tickets online has revealed he purchased around 187 tickets of different airlines worth Rs 30 lakh using 16 separate credit card numbers over the last six months. 

The accused not only purchased air tickets but also used the cards to entertain friends and family, police sources said. They added he also sold some of the  tickets he'd bought to others.

Indore Police arrested Akshay Kumar Khemani, 23, for duping people by misusing their credit card numbers. The city police have  registered a case under Section 420 of IPC and 66 & 70 of the IT Act against the accused.

The youth, who is on police remand till June 5, said he had booked 135 tickets on Jet Airways, 30 on Air Deccan and 22 on Indian Airlines. Khemani revealed that he had booked the tickets through Sify internet caf
