Industrial estates and establishments affected in Jamshedpur

A report from Jamshedpur said, the work in industrial estates in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand were affected by bandh.

The railway services and road traffic was also hit. Dozens of BJP activists were arrested for trying to enforce bandh in the steel city, police sources said.

Business establishments and financial institutions like banks, ATMs, shops, markets, petrol pumps remained closed.

While some of schools have already declared holiday, others including Sacred Heart Convent, Loyola, Tarapore School have remained open here.

Meanwhile, the road traffic came to a grinding halt as the autorickshaws, town mini-buses and long-distance buses and commercial vehicles did not ply, sources said.

While Howrah-bound Kurla-Shalimar Express was short terminated at Tatanagar, 2801 UP Purushottam Express, 2129 DN Azad Hind Express were being controlled here, sources said.

Tatanagar-Howrah Steel Express, Mumbai-Howrah Geetanjali Express were being detained near Jhargram in West Bengal.

Danapur-Tatanagar Express, Howrah-Sambalpur Ispat Express and Howrah-Barbil Jansatabdi Express have been cancelled for the bandh, sources said.
