Kerala Small Industries Development Corporation (Sidco) has drawn up plans to set up a Rs 27 crore high-tech industrial park in a 1.25 acre plot in the Gandhinagar area of Kochi.
According to Sidco officials, the proposed structure would comprise 12 floors, with more than 200,000 square feet of carpet area in each. The decision was taken following preliminary studies, which indicated that around 300 investors were seeking suitable space to locate their information technology businesses in and around Kochi.
To be completed within 30 months, the space will be sold to software firms, small-scale information technology units, information technology-enabled service companies, UPS manufacturers, biotechnology centres, units specialising in computer assembling, power control producers, etc.
The total sale value of the structure was estimated at around Rs 35.35 crore, the officials added.
