The chamber said it looks to the government for a realigned political equation that would address the economic situation and give impetus to issues that will drive economic growth, Ficci President Rajeev Chandrasekhar said in a statement.
He further said Ficci is concerned about the declining business confidence in the economy and is extremely worried about any developing governance deficit emerging out of this political crisis.
Meanwhile, Assocham said withdrawal of support by the Left has not surprised the chamber, since the party had made it clear that if the government went ahead with the nuclear deal, they would withdraw support.
"Withdrawal of support from Left was anticipated. We support the nuclear deal in the interest of country and whosoever supports the government on this issue, deserves to be praised," Assocham President Sajjan Jindal said.
The CPI(M), CPI, Forward Bloc and RSP today announced they would meet President Pratibha Patil tomorrow to submit their letter of withdrawal of support to the government. They said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statements on moving the IAEA soon had rendered any further talks on the issue meaningless.
