The prices of commodities like tea, mutton, milk and rice rose during the week while pulses declined. Among the manufactured items, prices of basic metals and alloys rose by 1.3 per cent. Iron and steel prices rose by 1.1 per cent. The index of fuel group also rose marginally due to higher prices of light diesel oil and furnace oil.
The government has revised the inflation rate for the week ended February 23 to 5.69 per cent as against the earlier reported figure of 5.02 per cent.
