Despite a steep rise in prices of vegetables and other primary food articles, the inflation rate plummeted by 0.13 per cent to touch 3.46 per cent for the week ended August 31. Annual rate of inflation stood at 3.59 per cent for the previous week and 4.93 per cent a year ago.
The wholesale price index (WPI) for the week ended August 31 remained unchanged at the previous week
