Inflation drops to 3.23%

 Government also upwardly revised the inflation rate for the week ended August 3 to 4.65% as against 4.36% reported earlier.

Primary articles with a weight of 22% in the WPI basket declined by 0.7% from the previous week. Food articles group declined by 1.1% whereas the non-food articles group rose by 0.4% as compared to the previous week.

While the index for the fuel group rose marginally by 0.1%, manufactured products index with the highest weight of nearly 64% in the WPI basket remained the same as its previous week
