Inflation based on the wholesale price index (WPI) fell to 3.84% in the week ended July 30, 2005 from 4.07% a week ago due to cheaper food items and manufactured products although fuel prices went up. The inflation was at 8.02% a year ago, an official release said today. The WPI remained unchanged at previous week's level of 194.5 points. The index was at 187.3 points a year ago. The final inflation for the week ended June 4, 2005 stood corrected at 4.39% as against the provisional estimate of 4.22%. The WPI was revised to 192.8 points as against the provisional level of 192.5 points. |
