Inflation moves up to 4.96%

Inflation based on the wholesale price index (WPI) moved up to 4.96% for the week ended July 1 as against 4.84% in the previous week due to higher prices of manufactured products, according to data released by the government today.

The government also revised upwards the inflation to 4.37% for the week ended June 6 from the provisional estimate of 3.96%.
