Inflation moves up to 5.48%

Rising for the second consecutive week, inflation based on the wholesale price index (WPI) touched 5.48% for the week ended April 9, 2005, mainly due to costlier vegetables, fruits, cooking gas and edible oils.

The inflation was at 4.57% during the corresponding week of the previous fiscal.
