Ip Appellate Board To Be Set Up Within 6 Weeks

India will set up a four-member Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB) within six weeks. The board, which will hear appeals against intellectual property rights (IPR), trademarks and geographical indications will bypass the high courts in IPR-related legislation.

The board will consist of a chairman, vice-chairman and two technical members, said officials, speaking on the sidelines of the WIPO Asia Pacific regional forum on policy development jointly organised by WIPO, the department of industrial policy and promotion and Ficci.
