In the backdrop of the IPL controversy and income tax scrutiny, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister P Chidambaram and Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, who is also a former BCCI chief, met here today.

The 20-minute meeting in the chamber of Mukherjee in Parliament House came soon after Shashi Tharoor, who resigned following the IPL Kochi controversy, made a statement in Lok Sabha.

It was not immediately clear as to what transpired in the meeting. However, it is understood that the controversy surrounding the IPL figured in the discussions.

Tharoor had resigned from the government following a row over giving sweat equity to his friend Sunanda Pushkar and the opposition uproar on the issue.
