Iraq War Unlikely To Have Any Impact On Dubai

The war in Iraq unlikely to have any major impact on Dubai, one of the largest tourist destination of the Middle East.

According to Carl Vaz, country manager of Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, government of Dubai in India, conflict in the region would not hit the overall footfall in Dubai.

However, it has reoriented its marketing strategy in India. DTCM has put key TV commercials, promoting Dubai as preferred leisure and business destination, on hold for the time being. DTCM has budget over Rs 2.5 crore for promotions.

While admitting that there has been some drop of leisure traveller during last few weeks, Vaz expressed hope the loss would be made up in the next busy tourism season later part of the year.
