In order to meet the manpower needs of the dairy sector, the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) launched a one year certificate programme in dairy management (CPDM).

The programme will comprise six months classroom sessions, followed by on-the-job training for another six months before students finally join dairy unions as full-time employees.

The program was formally launched on Monday by YK Alagh, chairman of IRMA.

While delivering the inaugural address, Alagh mentioned that the CPDM will showcase its revelance in the turbulent economic conditions by way of fresh recruitments in the dairy industry.

While welcoming the candidates on the occasion, Vivek Bhandari, director of IRMA said that the CPDM is the first program to be launched for a one year duration specially for the dairy sector.

On the other hand, BM Vyas, managing director of Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) said that the programme will meet the manpower needs of not only the federation but also several other dairy organizations in the years ahead.
