Ishita Roy takes charges as secretary general of ISC

The charge is in addition to her present assignment as the Member Secretary of Central Silk Board

Ishita Roy, today took over as the Secretary General of International Sericulture Commission (ISC), the inter-government organisation of silk producing countries.

This charge is in addition to her present assignment as the Member Secretary of Central Silk Board, Bangalore, governed by the Ministry of Textiles.

Roy was elected in an election during the ISC Conference on September 14, 2012 at Cluj Napoca, Romania. ISC was instituted in 1960 and its headquarter in Lyon has been moved to Bangalore to start operations in India from January 1, 2013.
