IT education initiative from PTC, ITC Info

ITC Infotech and Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) have announced the Bangalore launch of 'Navrachna "� India School Programme', an educational initiative that is envisaged to help thousands of students across India master the use of technology and prepare for careers in design, technology and engineering.

 
ITC Infotech launched the initial phase of the programme in Bangalore, and has secured the participation of over 1,000 schools covered undeer Mahithi Sindhu Program of the State Government, all 120 schools under the Delhi Public School Trust, nearly 10 Kendriya Vidyalayas in Bangalore, Vidya Shilp and the Indus International School.

 
Approximately 10,000 students from classes 5-10 are expected to use this software in the first year of Navrachna "� India School Programme. All the participating schools are expected to incorporate design and technology topics into their curriculum or as part of extra curricular activites.

 
Commenting on this initiative, V R Patel, the commissioner of public instruction, Government of Karnataka, said: "This will propel our students to higher levels of learning and facilitate and enhance interest in the field of engineering design. Currently, eight of our schools covered under the Mahithi Sindhu programme of the state will be initiated into this programme which will promote new standards of learning so that our students are globally competitive."
